Wow. It finally hit me. The first few weeks of the MKMMA I was cruising right through the exercises, feeling fantastic, getting stuff done…
All of a sudden I feel completely overwhelmed. This was the week I was supposed to quit the program or quit playing at less than 100%. I’m certainly not quitting the program, but my focus wasn’t what I planned it to be. I’m still checking the boxes, but that’s about it.
I remember this point the first time I went through the MKMMA. Just trying to fit in all the exercises was like a part-time job. (I don’t know how people with full time jobs and families fit all this in. My hat’s off to you all!) I completed everything, but there was no feeling with it. I think that was my biggest mistake. This time I’m remembering to pause and think about and feel what I’m reading. Or at least I’m trying to.
What’s really keeping me going this week is the phrase “I always keep my promises.” I know for a fact that if I wasn’t repeating that a dozen times a day, I would have slacked off a lot. If it wasn’t for that phrase, I wouldn’t have gotten my 10,000 steps in yesterday or my sit last week when I had to get out of bed to do it. I also wouldn’t be writing this post right now. Yes, if I pick up nothing else from this course, I will definitely remember to honor my word, especially to myself.
P.S. I hope you’re doing better than I am this week. Let me hear from you in the comments below.
